Kota Probolinggo Jadi Venue Konferensi ICLD

KANIGARAN – Pemerintah Kota Probolinggo mendapatkan kehormatan untuk menjadi co-host (tuan rumah) kegiatan Konferenesi ICLD (Swedish International Centre for Local Democracy). Kegiatan ini digelar selama 3 hari sejak Selasa (18/12) hingga Kamis (20/12) di Hotel Bromo Park. Sejumlah pemerintah daerah yang bekerjasama dengan ICLD pun hadir dalam konferensi ini seperti Provinsi An Giang – Vietnam, Cau Giay – Vietnam, Pemkot Yogyakarta, Pemkab Gunung Kidul, dan tak ketinggalan pula Pemkot Probolinggo. 

Seperti diketahui, sejak tahun 2013, Kota Probolinggo telah menjalin kerjasama dengan Kota Helsingborg, Swedia. Ini merupakan bentuk kerjasama yang didukung oleh ICLD. Tak hanya Kota Probolinggo, para peserta dari Vietnam dan DIY Yogyakarta merupakan beberapa pemerintah daerah yang bekerjasama dengan pemerintah Swedia, yang juga didukung oleh ICLD. 

Program Officer pada ICLD, Rikard Eduards menyatakan konferensi ini merupakan salah satu upaya untuk lebih mengenal dengan mitra kerja ICLD. Melalui kegiatan ini, ia berharap para mitra kerja dapat memberikan masukan terhadap program yang selama ini telah berjalan. 

“Tak hanya di Asia, kami juga memiliki mitra kerja di Afrika. Malahan, yang paling banyak di Afrika. Dengan adanya kerjasama ini, kami ingin baik pemerintah kota dari Swedia dan mitranya saling dapat belajar dan bertukar ilmu pengetahuan demi mewujudkan demokrasi lokal,” tutur Rikards. 

Wali Kota Rukmini yang secara langsung membuka acara ini menyatakan kebanggaannya karena Kota Probolinggo dipilih menjadi co-host dari kegiatan yang digelar ICLD. Ia pun berharap konferensi yang digelar dalam konsep workshop ini dapat menjadi media komunikasi dan interaksi produktif antar peserta. 

“Sekaligus menjadi sarana dalam berbagi best practice yang akan makin mempererat hubungan keakraban dan kerjasama antar kota dan antar negara, yang diharapkan dapat diwujudkan dalam peningkatan kontribusi yang konstruktif, utamanya dalam meningkatkan transparansi dan demokrasi lokal di kota masing-masing dalam menghadapi berbagai tantangan pembangunan peradaban global,” tutur Rukmini. 

Selama konferensi digelar para peserta dapat saling mengenal satu sama lain. Bahkan di hari pertama, peserta melakukan kunjungan lapangan ke sejumlah tempat di Kota Probolinggo. Kali ini, mereka berkesempatan mengetahui bagaimana proses partisipasi masyarakat dalam membangun Kota Probolinggo. Termasuk pengolahan limbah tahu yang diproses menjadi biogas dan proses pembangunan IPAL Komunal. 

Di akhir konferensi, salah satu peserta dari Vietnam, Tran Nhan Tam berharap agar kegiatan semacam ini tak hanya berhenti di sini saja namun dapat berlanjut di daerah lain. “Kami berharap workshop seperti ini menjadi agenda rutin ICLD. Dan kegiatannya bisa digelar di daerah lain, seperti di Vietnam. Sehingga kita bisa lebih mengenal satu sama lain,” tutur Tran. (alfien/humas)

 

KANIGARAN – Probolinggo Municipality has the honor of being the co-host of Conference of Swedish International Center for Local Democracy. This activity was held for 3 days from Tuesday (18/12) to Thursday (12/20) at the Bromo Park Hotel. A number of regional governments in collaboration with ICLD were present at this conference such as An Giang Province – Vietnam, Cau Giay – Vietnam, Yogyakarta City Government, Gunung Kidul Regency Government, and also Probolinggo Municipality.

As is known, since 2013, Probolinggo city has collaborated with Helsingborg city, Sweden. This is a form of collaboration supported by ICLD. Not only Probolinggo city, the participants from Vietnam and Yogyakarta Special Regioan were several local governments in collaboration with the Swedish government, which was also supported by ICLD.

The ICLD Program Officer, Rikard Eduards said that this conference was one of the efforts to get to know ICLD partners more. Through this activity, he hopes that the partners can provide input on the program that has been running so far.

“Not only in Asia, we also have partners in Africa. In fact, the most is in Africa. With this collaboration, we want both municipalities from Sweden and their partners to be able to learn and exchange knowledge to realize local democracy,” said Rikards.

Mayor  Rukmini who directly opened the event expressed his pride because Probolinggo City was chosen to be the co-host of ICLD activities. She also hoped that the conference held in the concept of the workshop could be a medium of communication and productive interaction between participants.

“It is also a means of sharing best practices that will further strengthen the relationship between intimacy and cooperation between cities and between countries, which are expected to be realized in increasing constructive contributions, especially in increasing local transparency and democracy in their respective cities in facing the challenges of civilization development globally,” said Rukmini.

During the conference, participants were able to get to know each other. Even on the first day, participants made field visits to a number of places in Probolinggo city. This time, they had the opportunity to know how the process of community participation in develop Probolinggo city, including processing of tofu waste which is processed into biogas and the process of developing a waste communal.

At the end of the conference, one of the participants from Vietnam, Tran Nhan Tam, hoped that this kind of activity would not only stop here but could continue in other areas. “We hope that workshops like this will become a routine agenda for ICLD. And activities can be held in other areas, such as in Vietnam, so that we can know each other more,” said Tran.
