Lagi, Turis Kapal Pesiar Singgahi Kota

Foreign Cruise Passengers Arrive in Probolinggo City

Rudi Kenarwoko salah satunya.

Red Church is one of the most-visited city landscape when the foreign cruise passengers arrive in the city. But, in the early of May (9/5), of thousands foreign passengers of Pasific Eden, there were only 20 people visited the Church. By taking a minibus, at 9 am, they went to the old Church built in 1862.

The Church is not surprised with these few number of foreigners since the Youth, Sport, Culture, and Tourism Agency (Dispobpar) has informed them via official letter. The ones who were surprised were the netizens who read the information on the arrival of foreign cruise passengers from the Facebook account of Dispobpar.

It was written in the account:

20 foreign cruise passengers of Pasific Eden from Australia would like to have City Tour to Probolinggo City on Monday, May 9th 2016, at 9 a.m., while 17 other foreigners would visit Bromo Mountain. Let’s keep the city conducive and make the foreigners comfortable to create an image of Impressive Probolinggo City, as this is the first time they visit the city.

Rudi Kenarwoko commented the posting, asking about the few passengers taking the city tour and Bromo Mountain package.

“What’s wrong with that few number of foreigners who take the city tour and Bromo Mountain package? If I’m not mistaken, the capacity of Pasific Eden is about 1,627 passengers,” Rudi posted it on the comment column.

Through the same account, the head of Tourism Information and Promotion section, Pandu Satria Hutama, responded the comment. “That’s absolutely right. The cruise capacity is about 1,500 passengers. But this is the first time the ship visits the city, just like other previous ships. In 2012, there were only few passengers who visited the city. But, in 2015 and 2016, we have many foreigners visiting the city. The point is we’d like to make this as a promotion. Insya Allah, there would be more foreigners coming,” said Pandu.

As is informed, this month’s visit is the fourth visit of cruise ship. The previous ships visiting the city were MS Volendam and MS Rotterdam from Netherland. And, now it’s Pasific Eden who visit the city.

Not only asking about the number of foreigners, to Dispobpar, the netizens also asked about the driver service and tourism package they can offer to the foreigners.

Dispobpar is welcome to the respond of the citizens who’d like to sell driver service and tourism package. “We are very welcome if you’d like to offer your products or service to the foreigners. But you have register first to Pelindo. Then they could arrange the rest,” Pandu replied.

“The point is that we always support the citizens who’d like to sell their tourism package to the foreigners, especially travel agent and tourism services. The most important thing is you all have to give them the best services,” said Pandu when he was interviewed by Link Go.

In order to give the best services that can make the foreigners comfortable and eager to visit the city again, as usual, Dispobpar gave the foreigners the performance of Jaran Bodhag and Reog dance at the Probolinggo Museum.
