Selasa (14/5) sore, Wawali Subri turun sendiri membagikan takjil bersama sang istri, Diah Kristanti Soufis Subri.

(famydecta/humas)

The distribution of takjil, or breaking the fast dishes, for the poor and the traveler has become a routine agenda of Probolinggo Municipality in every year on Ramadan month. However, this was the first-time event conducted in the leadership of Mayor Hadi Zainal Abidin and Vice Mayor Mochamad Soufis Subri.

Tuesday (5/14) afternoon, Vice Mayor Subri himself did the distribution to share takjil with his wife, Diah Kristanti Soufis Subri. The schedule for takjil distribution was in front of the official residence of the vice mayor on Jalan Suroyo. “Please pray for all of us, hopefully, the Mayor and Vice Mayor will be given health and be istiqomah (steadfastness) to carry out their duties,” said Diah Kristanti, to the community at that time.

The takjil distribution has been carried out from the first day until the end of Ramadan. The team from the General Affairs Department of the Regional Secretariat of Probolinggo Municipality has plotted the location and prepared 100 takjil every day.

Recently, the takjil was held in front of the mayor’s office, before being moved to the front of the mayor’s official residence on Jalan Panglima Sudirman, in front of the Satpol PP office and a number of other locations.

“Last year, we divided it into 29 urban villages in the city. Now we go to the office and some other places. The reason is so that more people can feel the benefits,” said Head of Household Affairs section of General Affairs Department, Angga.

In less than 30 minutes, the takjil has been all distributed. “This is in order to respect the Moslems; to make good relations between the municipality and the community so that synergy occurs. That means the community gets enough attention from the government,” Subri said.

One of the residents, living on Jalan KH Manshur, who received the takjil was grateful that the government had this kind of event. “Alhamdulillah, this would encourage other Moslems to be able to share with each other. Hopefully, in the coming year, it will be further improved,” Samad said, who accidentally stopped his motorbike because he saw a lot of crowds as he passed on Jalan Suroyo, after picking up his grandson to join TPQ at the Raudlatul Jannah Mosque.

Meanwhile, Diah Kristanti Soufis Subri was impressed by the enormous enthusiasm of the community. “We are very happy to be able to share with the people of Probolinggo City. Masyaallah, it was a huge pleasure, cannot be expressed in words,” said the Deputy Chairperson of the Probolinggo City TP PKK who always has a smart-casual style.
