(famydecta/humas)

The inspection was also conducted as a media to present dissemination on requirements of qurban cattle stipulated on shari’a to the sellers. Qurban cattle should meet the animal health rules, animal welfare, and veterinary public health.

“We found cattle that have not reached maturity. Some were having a mouth and eye disease but have been treated by the Agency of Agriculture and Food Security. The one with eye disease has been cured. Yet, the other with mouth disease must be off the market. We will keep monitoring for the next three days,” Vice Mayor Subri said.

Concerning the increasing number of sellers and qurban cattle being sold, the vice mayor hopes that people and the government would be more aware because there is always a disease found in the cattle.

“The government is here to protect and to facilitate, we check the preparation related to disease the cattle might have,” he added.

Vice Mayor Subri urges the people to buy cattle as stipulated on Islam shari’a. He also asked the sellers not only think about the profit but also think about the cattle’s health.
