The bus taking 155 pilgrims back to Probolinggo city have finally arrived on Tuesday (20/8) at the front yard of the mayor’s office. Arrived at 07.02 pm, the groups of pilgrims were welcomed by Vice Mayor Mochammad Soufis Subri.

There was no special ceremonial event to welcome the pilgrims since the municipal administration has learned their desire to meet their families. Leaving the pilgrim boarding house Sukolilo for Probolinggo city, the group made a stop to Ar-Royan Mosque, Tongas, to have Ashar prayer.

Before the 4 buses taking the pilgrims to arrive, a truck belongs to Pos Indonesia has arrived taking the baggage of the pilgrims. The families who get an invitation were permitted to take the baggage at the back yard of the mayor’s office.

As they arrived, the pilgrims were shaking hands the vice mayor and other officials. The vice mayor stated he will ask the implementing officers, which is the Department of Society Welfare, for written reports about the implementation of pilgrimage in 2019.

“As we monitor, we have a better implementation this year since it will always be evaluated every year,” Subri said.

The vice mayor was thankful for the fact that the pilgrims have come back safely and healthy. “Thank God. They came back to the same number as they left for Mecca. We’d like them to pray for us, for the city,” he said.
