We coordinate with relevant agencies and involve Forkopimda in supporting immunization,” she said.

Provision of immunization is a public health effort that has proven to be the most effective (cost effective) and has a positive impact to realize the degree of maternal and child health in Indonesia. Immunization not only protects a person but also the community by providing community protection or the so-called herd immunity.

To all mothers who came with their children and posyandu cadres, Mayor Rukmini conveyed the importance of complete basic immunization which is a form of love and responsibility to protect the babies. “Immunization provides comprehensive protection against dangerous diseases. With basic immunization completed based on the schedule, the baby’s body is stimulated to have immunity so that their body is able to survive from the attack of dangerous diseases,” explained the Mayor.

The complete basic immunization in question is for infants aged 0 to less than 12 months to receive hepatitis B immunization (0-24 hours); at 1 month of BCG and polio 1 immunization; at 2 months of age immunizing DPT-hepatitis B-hemophilic influenza1-polio 1; at the age of 3 months immunization for DPT-hepatitis B-hemophilic influenza 2-polio 3; 4 months of age immunization DPT-hepatitis B-hemophilic influenza 2-polio 4, IPV (inactivate polio vaccine); 9 months of age MR (measles rubella).

Meanwhile for baduta (18 months), they must be given DP-Hb-Hib-MR (measles rubella) immunization. At school-age, children will also get measles and tetanus diphtheria in grade 1 of elementary school, in grade 2, they will have tetanus diphtheria immunization, and finally in grade 3 they will have another diphtheria tetanus.

“Probolinggo Municipality expresses its gratitude and welcomes the monitoring of the implementation of complete basic immunization in Baduta with Forkopimda. Hopefully this monitoring will run smoothly and can improve immunization outcomes in the city,” Rukmini hoped. Tomorrow (6/4) the monitoring will be held together with Forkopimda in different location.
